"In the nonstop tsunami of global information, librarians provide us with floaties and teach us to swim."

Welcome to the professional presence for Library and Information Science professional and historian!
Hope D. AlwineIn the mountains of western North Carolina, there is a professional librarian in the making! My journey to becoming a professional librarian began in August of 2015 when I started by job at Brevard College and simultaneously began my coursework to receive my Masters in Library and Information Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. It has been quite a journey of learning and reflecting on what it truly means to be an information professional in today's world. Enjoy exploring my adventures through librarianship!
My website is divided into two main sections -- the first half is my professional information including my resume, circulumn vitae, and my professional development activities. Then it changes gears into Student Learning Outcomes where evidence is shown to cover the major areas as taught through UNC-G's MLIS program, in three main sections -- the explanation, the reflection, and artifacts of the outcome's core idea. From the Bibliotheacary's Stacks is my professional blog where I explore various topics pertaining to my personal journey through librarianship, both as a public and an academic librarian.
